Confidential Advisor and Academic Integrity Committee

LUMC has appointed a Confidential Advisor, in compliance with the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity as well as Leiden University and LUMC’s Regulation on Complaints Regarding Academic Integrity. Leiden University and LUMC have also installed an Academic Integrity Committee. The Committee consists of a Leiden University chamber and a LUMC chamber.

The Confidential Advisor is the first point of contact in case of:

  • Questions or complaints about research, for example, authorship conflicts
  • Suspected violation of academic integrity on behalf of current or former LUMC employees

When suspicion seems to be well-founded, the Confidential Advisor (Dutch: Vertrouwenspersoon voor de Wetenschap) will take the complainant to the Academic Integrity Committee (Dutch: Commissie Wetenschappelijke Integriteit).
