I joined this lab for his PhD training in Autumn 2020 after obtaining his MSc in Theoretical Physics at the Institute for Computational Plasma Physics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
I obtained my MSc degree under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rainer Grauer and Dr. Jürgen Drehe
During my PhD training I will apply machine learning and other computational methods to develop data-driven individualized human heart models using high-resolution recordings of human atrial tissue cultures. This will be done in direct collaboration with the applied mathematics research group of Dr. Hans Dierckx, Mathematics of Cardiac Arrhythmias, at KU Leuven. Eventually my studies will progress towards clinical translational by making use of intracardiac electrograms from patients.
My project is supported by the Leuven-Leiden global PhD programme.
