LERU
LERU maintains a dialogue and cooperates with EU institutions and related stakeholders on topics, such as the European Research Area, Open Science, Horizon Europe, and Erasmus+. Activities include direct communication and discussions within the policy community and solid proposals for improvement and progress. In addition, LERU carefully considers publications on fundamental issues affecting Europe’s research universities.
LERU’s members also work on policy development, mutual learning, and the exchange of good practices in several areas. Some examples are research management, assessment and funding, innovation, open scholarship, impact, academic careers, higher education including doctoral and post-doctoral training, and gender issues.

LERU Biomedicine/Life Sciences group
Bringing together experts in human and veterinary medicine to develop high-level policy recommendations and exchange information on best practices (e.g., education, medical data management, and regulatory issues). Prof. Pancras Hogendoorn (Dean of LUMC) has been chair of this LERU policy group since 2016.
