LUMC is the so-called data controller under European privacy law: the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means that LUMC is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is processed carefully and in accordance with the GDPR.
If you are an LUMC patient, your personal data will be processed. By processing we mean that the LUMC uses and stores your data for your treatment. Your medical data is stored in your medical file. LUMC secures your data in your medical file properly. LUMC is NEN7510 and ISO27001 certified. Those are standards for good information security and data protection. Staff with access to your data have an obligation of confidentiality. For example, your treating physician.
