Prevention, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of thrombosis
We aim to develop validated diagnostic algorithms for frequent and rare venous thromboembolic disorders, including (recurrent) deep-vein thrombosis of the leg, arm and more rare sites, including splanchnic veins and cerebral veins. We make use of novel imaging techniques, including MRDTI. We aim to evaluate end of life decisions in anticoagulant care in venous and arterial indications. We aim to evaluate personalized decisions on duration of anticoagulation.

International collaboration
The research of is performed in collaboration with several partners, including national partners of the Dutch Thrombosis Network, which is part of the INVENT-VTE network. We are members of international guidelines of diagnosis and treatment of venous thromboembolism, including ACCP en ESC.
