MSK oncology: Bone and soft tissue sarcoma
Within the LUMC we are working on diffusion weighted imaging in characterization of neurogenic tumors (with the neurosurgery department) and on radiological differences between different spinal tumors such as chordoma and chondrosarcoma (with the radiotherapy department): CHIPT study. Furthermore, an imaging study on prostate cancer metastases is currently being analyzed (MRI whole body and PET CT) together with the oncology department (CHENA study).

We are collaborating with the AVL in the SADDRIN-1 and SCOPES trials, neoadjuvant (chemo)radiotherapy studies in soft tissue sarcoma.
Our goals for the near future are to implement structured reporting for bone and soft tissue tumors, so that data can be drafted from radiology reports directly into the MDT form and used for (big data/radiomics) research, in combination with histopathology data.
In addition, we aim to make updated response evaluation criteria for Ewing sarcoma and osteosarcoma based on advanced MRI (diffusion weighted imaging and perfusion) and volumetric analyses.
