Introduction
I am a radiologist and epidemiologist with a strong background in translational research. My area of expertise is cardiothoracic imaging (European Board of Cardiovascular Radiology), renal imaging and contrast media safety. I have combined my her specialist training in Radiology at the LUMC with a PhD research track (May 2015 - June 2020), which was awarded the Frederik Philips Prize for best Radiological PhD thesis in the Netherlands (2021).
Scientific research
My research is focused on multi-modality imaging focused on cardio-renal axis and population-based imaging studies which is supported by the ZonMw veni grant. I am the current chair of the renal MRI working of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, and working group member of the Contrast Media Safety Committee of the European Society of Radiology.
As ambassador I aim aims to contribute to the Cardio-Vascular Theme by bringing together researchers and clinicians interested in new opportunities for assessing renovascular function and cardio-renal interaction using multi-modality imaging techniques. This initiative calls for a multidisciplinary strategy, leveraging the collective expertise of various specialists within the Cardio-Vascular Theme to enhance synergy and innovation.
I will also enhance the Cardio-Vascular Theme by offering her expertise as a cardiovascular radiologist and my international experience in research, education, and guidelines to promote the broad application of advanced imaging across the field's research areas.
