Introduction
I am Professor of Population Health and Head of Scientific Research at the Health Campus in The Hague. In 2004, I completed my training as a clinical dietitian at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, which I followed with a Master's in Public Health Research & Nutrition at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2008) to further focus on scientific research. My PhD (2009-2012) focused on early life nutrition and gastrointestinal and allergic disorders. Subsequently, I worked as a senior researcher in nutrition and health at the Department of Epidemiology at Erasmus MC until 2018. I combined this with the role of convenor for the Global Public Health program at Leiden University College in The Hague. Since 2019, I have been working as a full professor at LUMC. In addition to my work at LUMC, I am the chair of the Dutch Academy of Nutritional Sciences and member of the core research team of the Lifestyle Coalition.
