Introduction
Maaike Gademan is a Human Movement Scientist and Clinical Epidemiologist. She is affiliated to both the department of Orthopaedics and the Clinical Epidemiology department. Her research is primarily centered on optimizing care for individuals with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases with a primary focus on osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis and orthopaedics. To achieve this, she employs robust epidemiological and statistical methods, utilizing various research designs, analytical techniques and data sources.
Scientific research
Additionally, she is dedicated to enhancing the quality of orthopaedic research. She actively engages in various local and national boards providing guidance and advice to researchers, physicians and organizations on scientific matters. For instance, since 2016 she is the chair of the scientific committee Orthopaedics of the LUMC and since 2021 she is a member of the Scientific advisory board of the Dutch Arthroplasty register.
