About your role
Your main responsibility is to validate novel molecules for immune modulation and gene delivery using human cellular platforms. You will work with primary human immune cells in ex vivo and in vitro settings, applying various immunological and cell biological techniques. In addition to conducting experiments, you will collaborate closely with research teams within the consortium to advance the project. Your top 5 key responsibilities are:
- Validate novel molecules, delivered via nanoparticles, identified in preclinical studies using human cellular platforms.
- Apply a range of immunological and cell biological techniques to study primary human immune cells.
- Optimize and refine gene delivery strategies for effective immune modulation.
- Organize and conduct experiments while ensuring scientific rigor and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with consortium partners to exchange knowledge and integrate findings into the broader research framework.

About your workplace
The LUMC is a center for medical innovation, dedicated to improving patient care through internationally leading research. You will join the Department of Immunology, which frequently collaborates with research groups both within and outside the LUMC. This project, funded by NWO, is part of the Innate & Adaptive (Tumor) Immunity research group, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Yanling Xiao, and involves collaboration with various research teams.
About you
You are motivated to contribute to cutting-edge research and thrive in a collaborative environment. You take initiative in your work, are eager to develop new expertise, and communicate your findings clearly. You work precisely and approach scientific challenges with curiosity and perseverance. Furthermore, you have:
- Substantial experience in (tumor) immunology and/or cell (molecular) biology.
- Expertise in immunological and biomedical techniques.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in bioinformatics (advantageous).

- As a postodoc, your salary will be between €3,493 and €5,504 gross per month (scale 10, CAO UMC). These figures are based on a full-time position.
