You have 7 more days to apply

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey as a PhD student in Immunology at LUMC, where your curiosity will drive groundbreaking research? Dive into cutting-edge studies exploring the molecular basis of adaptive immunity and contribute to the advancement of immunotherapies for various diseases. Experience a supportive international team environment that fosters multidisciplinary skill development and personal growth. With state-of-the-art facilities at your disposal, you will have the tools to make a real impact in the field of immunology and help shape the future of research on immune-related diseases.

About your role

As a PhD student in Immunology, you will be responsible for investigating how the regulation of RNA translation influences T cell differentiation and their capacity to combat infections and cancer. Your research will focus on understanding the critical processes that enable naïve T cells to transit from a quiescent state into active proliferation, thereby acquiring specialized effector functions. This position requires utilizing advanced molecular biology techniques and provides an opportunity to contribute valuable insights into T cell responses that could enhance immunotherapy strategies. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting experiments using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, ribosomal profiling and proteomics to explore regulation of RNA translation in T cells.
  • Culturing primary T cells and employing spectral flow cytometry to analyze T cell differentiation and effector functions.
  • Analyzing data and integrating bioinformatics to understand the molecular mechanisms behind T cell fate decisions.

This position is embedded within a dynamic and collaborative international team at the LUMC, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. You will receive mentorship to support your personal and professional growth, making this an excellent opportunity for impactful research in the field of immunology.
