PhD Candidate MReye Research Group

You have 19 more days to apply

As a PhD candidate at LUMC, you will work on the development of a groundbreaking cone-beam CT scanner that integrates ophthalmology, radiotherapy, and radiology. In this project, you will directly connect technological innovation with clinical applications, aiming to significantly improve care for patients with eye cancer. You will be part of an advanced research group where you not only develop technologies but also test them in clinical practice. This offers you the opportunity to establish a strong foundation for your career in both science and clinical settings.

About your role

In this PhD position, you will contribute to the development of an innovative imaging technique that can enhance care for patients with eye cancer. You will work closely with both technical and clinical experts to design, test, and ultimately implement the cone-beam CT scanner in clinical practice. The project provides you with the chance to refine your skills in imaging technology and medical physics while working on solutions that have a direct impact on patient care. Your top three tasks are:

  • Develop and optimize the cone-beam CT scanner for the eye, including testing and validating the technology in a clinical environment.
  • Coordinate collaborations between the departments of ophthalmology, radiotherapy, and radiology to ensure the clinical applications of the imaging technique.
  • Analyze and process research data to assess the clinical effectiveness of the scanner.

Additionally, you will work within an enthusiastic team of experts and contribute to the CAPTOR project, which has the potential to bring about significant breakthroughs in eye cancer care.
