An opportunity to merge science and innovation at the forefront of translational research.

About your role

As a postdoc within the Islet group of the Department of Internal Medicine, you will work on translational research focused on the transplantation of primary human pancreatic and stem cell-derived insulin-producing cells. You will be part of the in vivo team and contribute to research aimed at developing new treatments for diabetes mellitus. Additionally, you will support the isolation of islets of Langerhans within a GMP environment, a process that may involve irregular working hours.

Your top five tasks:

  • Conducting transplantation experiments with primary human pancreatic and stem cell-derived insulin-producing cells in immunodeficient mice or rats.
  • Analyzing the survival, integration, and function of the transplanted cells.
  • Supporting the isolation of islets of Langerhans for both transplantation and research purposes.
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners in the research field.
  • Reporting research findings in scientific publications and presentations.
