Just like the crew of an airplane, caregivers in a hospital have to cooperate well to avoid incidents. Therefore, a debriefing often takes place, but memories are not always reliable, PhD researcher Veerle Heesters points out. She studied video reflection in the neonatal intensive care unit of the LUMC for four years. This led to a toolbox that other departments can use to improve teamwork through video analysis.
